Mosquito Session

I'm thinking because it's not only a park, but also a "nature center" that the mosquitoes are SO bad there! I'm sure they don't spray. Honey, Jesse Jones park is filled with more mosquitoes than a stagnant pool of water in the middle of a Texas summer! Oh, The photos turned out beautifully but I bet Duane and Krista's arms were sore "the day after" from swatting at the little pests! It was very hard for me to choose which photos to post here but I narrowed it down to about 25 more than a Baker's Dozen! Whoa! Also, I normally post my photos in order that they were shot but not this time. This time, I wanted something different. So, in no particular order...and to the tune of Verizon's "please enjoy the music while your party is reached"..."Please enjoy the photos while your eyes do feast!"

Krista looks adorable here! And I love Ty's look!

Happy Mommy, Baby, Daddy.

I just had to capture Devin's little hands. I wish I had some like this when mine were babies. How you forget the little things about your baby as they grow.

Some kind of GORGEOUS!

Black hair. Green eyes. Long lashes. Freckles. I HEART CLOSE UPS!

This awesome looking place was a COMPLETE mosqito torment chamber! You could never tell! We shot it like a convenient store: quick in. quick out!

Oh my heavens!

Daddy's girl.

I'm completely in love with Devin's look.

FAVOR-ITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How I love this. I was desperately wanting D to give a little smile. Even with all of my sweet, baby talk nothing worked.

Not even this.

Look into my eyes lady...no smile for you today.

Well, if that's how you feel about it...

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! Got it!

Happy Thanksgiving

CAFFIENE and BFF's

It all started yesterday evening at about 5:30 pm. We went to Luby's with my mother in law and I kneewwwwww I shouldn't have reached for it's tasteful, perfectly blended, delicious iced tea! I knewwwwwwwwww it would keep me up. But I didn't know it would keep me up until 3am! And for me, that's a whole nother world. I'm not a night owl. Early to bed/early to rise is my motto. So, I'm up looking through and editing my photos that my mother in law snapped of us for our Christmas cards and sleep is no where to be found. I'm wide eyed and ready to go! I'm SO excited about our Christmas cards this year! They are so, so, so adorable. I had all kinds of thoughts and creative moments going through my head in the wee hours today. So I made up our own words in our cards and now am having hot flashes and jolts of second thoughts about them. I was feeling a little silly and it kinda came out and just leaped from my head to my fingers in a flash. I typed them. Copied them. Pasted them. Laughed at them. And now am having fits over them. The words are to the tune of: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing I sang the little ode to MyRick, and he laughed. And the next words out of his mouth were: do you think anyone'll get it? Well, that's not exactly what I wanted to hear. I just need to stop sweating it and believe that in my moment of deliriousness, that cute little ode was destined to be. When it gets closer to Christmas, (my favorite time of year!) I'll post the words to: Ode of The Johnson Family along with our photos and you can see if you get it. Oh Lord, please let them get it! I think I might be exaggerating and overreacting a bit.

And now because they go together like peanut butter and jelly, popcorn and coke, pumpkin pie and whipped cream, horse and rider, tooth and gum (that was MyRick's)
BFF's...

We Just Hit The Jackpot!

I love families. I love photographing families. I love capturing moments, little details, fabulous light. When I go to a photo session I always pray before and ask to capture things that the family would love. Things that matter to them. In this session with Renee and James I feel like I captured it ALL! The lighting, the moments, the details, the smiles, emotion.
Renee works with Cynthia (yes, my sister-in-law that keeps me in stitches! LARRY!) She showed Renee my website and soon thereafter, I received an email from Renee wanting to know the info about her session.
Renee has the most beautiful smile! James is a proud daddy. He's seriously got the hots for his wife! See photos below...woo-woo! Their children kept me very busy! They were very sweet! When they got out of the car, Riann (pronounced Ryan) looked at me with a huge smile of anticipation on her face while wringing her little hands together and having one of her feet turned in just a bit and said, "I like parks!" I thought...Oh man! We just hit the jackpot!

What a cutie!

Enchanting eyes.

Sweetness.

yes, little Riann was serenading her little brother here:

...AAAAAAAAAANNNND you smell like one too!

Norman Rockwell feel.
